Context Capital Partners Completes Purchase of Context Summits

Bala Cynwyd, Pa. – October 15, 2018 – Context Capital Partners, a leading alternative investment specialist firm, today announced that it has purchased the non-controlling interest in Context Summits and is now the sole owner of the preeminent producer of events for the alternative asset management industry.  As part of the transaction, it has been mutually agreed that Mark Salameh, Context Summits co-founder and chief executive, will step down from his role effective Monday, October 15th.

“Acquiring the Summits franchise and partnering with Mark Salameh has been tremendously additive for our overall business,” said Ron Biscardi, CEO of Context Capital Partners.  “Mark has been a pioneer in the specialized events industry.  We thank him for his many contributions and wish him well in the next chapter of his career.”

Salameh’s duties will be absorbed by Kevin Garton who has been named President of Context Summits. Context Capital Partners first launched Context Summits in 2013. Since then, Context Summits has become the pioneer of the one-on-one ‘summit’ format and is today the largest conference company in the alternative asset management industry, hosting annually more than 18,000 meetings, between 3,000 allocators and managers representing over $6 trillion in assets.

“I am extremely proud of what we’ve been able to achieve with the Context Summits business,” said Salameh, “there is a great team in place here, and I look forward to the continued growth and success of this amazing company.”

Next up for Context Summits is their flagship event, Context Summits Miami 2019, which will bring together alternative investment managers and allocators representing over $4 trillion in cumulative assets under management for three days of focused meetings, thought leadership and networking opportunities. As previously announced, Gary D. Cohn will be a featured keynote at the event, which is scheduled for January 30-February 1, 2019 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel.
